EU4Youth – Unlocking the potential of young social entrepreneurs in Moldova and Ukraine (2020-2022):
The overall objective of this project is to improve the capacity of youth-owned social enterprises to fight unemployment, reduce migration and contribute to social inclusion and cohesion in the Eastern Partnership (EaP) region.
Total project budget: 1,66 million Euros
The specific objectives of the project are to:
- improve the legal framework for social entrepreneurship in Moldova and establish the respective legislation for Ukraine based on Moldova’s best practices;
- improve the capacity of young social entrepreneurs in business administration, fundraising and advocacy activities for promoting social enterprises’ interests through the development of a Moldovan-Ukrainian network of young social entrepreneurs;
- motivate more youth to start social start-ups and raise the recognition of SE contribution to social inclusion and the reduction of inequalities;
- strengthen relevant business support structures for young social entrepreneurs in both countries, including start-up funding.
ACTION IN BRIEF
- Establish an active network of 500 social enterprises contributing to the promotion of public-private partnerships in Moldova and Ukraine;
- Create an EcoHub supporting young social entrepreneurs, which will play an important role to stimulate mutual learning, information and best practice exchanges among young social entrepreneurs, as well as provide seed funding for the 15 best social start-up initiatives that focus on environmental sustainability and have proven records offering employment opportunities for the marginalised youth;
- Opening of 6 Social Entrepreneurship Labs in six most depressed and remote regions in Ukraine, ensuring outreach to underprivileged youth including young women/single mothers;
- Raise public awareness on social entrepreneurship, integrate social entrepreneurship topics into the university curriculum, and support young social entrepreneurs to earn public recognition for their innovative efforts to tackle social exclusion, inequalities and environmental degradation.
The project is implemented by the Gustav-Stresemann-Institut (e.V) (GSI) – lead organisation (Germany), AXA Management Consulting (Moldova), ECO-RAZENI Association (Moldova), Egalite International (Ukraine), National Assistance and Information Centre for NGOs in Moldova CONTACT (Moldova) and Pro NGO! e.V. (Germany). The project is co-funded by the European Union under its EU4Youth Programme.

Vietnam
Win-Win for Vietnam – A cooperation mechanism between business sector and civil society organisations for corporate social responsibility and sustainable development goals (2020-2024):
The overall objective of the project is to promote Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Creating Shared Values (CSV) for private sector-civil society organisations (CSOs) cooperation toward achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs), by establishing an effective cooperation mechanism between business sector and CSOs in Vietnam.
Total project budget: 665.564,00 Euros
The specific objectives of the project are:
(1) Enhancing the capacity of CSOs and enterprises in Vietnam with a focus on collaborative CSR and CSV projects toward achieving SDGs
(2) Establishing an effective cooperation mechanism (including tools, instruments and training courses to improve mutual understanding between business sector and CSOs in Vietnam with the goal of implementing CSR and CSV actions related to the SDGs
(3) Raising Awareness to promote the trend of collaborating in CSR and CSV projects toward achieving SDGs for the benefit of Vietnamese society.
Key deliverables:
1) Development of tools and instruments that enable an effective cooperation mechanism between corporate sector and CSOs in implementing CSR and CSV projects toward achieving SDGs is operated and maintained by a coordination board;
2) 200 Vietnamese CSOs have the capacity to design and cooperate with enterprises in implementing CSR/CSV projects which meet the SDGs;
3) 300 enterprises and 200 Vietnamese CSOs understand the importance and effectiveness of CSR/ CSV related to SDGs trend;
4) Improved capacities and know-how in project design and management thanks to 10 sub-grants from the project for 10 small Vietnamese CSOs (max. 10,000€/grant);
5) 30 CSR/CSV projects between enterprises and CSOs focusing on one or more of the selected SDGs implemented during the project implementation;
6) The cooperation mechanism between enterprises and CSOs established and maintained;
7) SDGs become well-known and widespread across Vietnamese Society.

Establishing a funding foundation for biodiversity protection and environmental sustainability in Da Nang City (2020-2023):
The overall objective of this project is that the financial capacity of Vietnamese Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) working in the field of biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability in Da Nang city and central highland provinces is reinforced by facilitating the diversification of financing sources.
Total project budget: 659.456,00 Euros
The specific objectives of the project are:
(1) to mobilise a sustainable and transparent financing source for Vietnamese CSOs to protect biodiversity and sustainable environment in Da Nang City and some provinces in Central and Central Highlands of Vietnam;
(2) To promote and raise the participation of local CSOs in Da Nang City and neighbouring provinces in Central and Central Highlands in dealing with problems in biodiversity conservation and sustainable environment;
(3) To raise the capacity of local CSOs focusing on CBOs and grassroots organisations by training, mentoring, learning by doing.
Key expected results:
- The Conservation Fund is established at the end of 2021 to diversify financing source for biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability in Da Nang city, Central and Central Highlands of Vietnam;
- 20 billion VND is raised for the Fund from different sources focusing on business sector and community members
- CSOs’ initiatives for biodiversity conservation and environment protection in Da Nang City, Central and Central Highlands of Vietnam are promoted
- Funding for biodiversity conservation in Da Nang City and neighbouring provinces is secured and well distributed to NGOs and CBOs in the region
- The Red-shanked douc langur population with about 1,300 individuals in Son Tra (Da Nang City) is protected
