Last month, the Win-Win for Vietnam project organised 2 business conferences in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi (Vietnam) on 12 August and 19 August, respectively. The 2 conferences aimed to introduce to the private sector in Vietnam about the current trend of integrating sustainability into business’s strategic CSR.
The two conferences welcomed international and local experts in the field, such as: Dr Lothar Rieth – Head of Sustainability of EnBW (Germany), Ms Chau Bui – Project manager/PhD Candidate in Business & Sustainability (Germany), Mr. Phat Vo – Chief of Marketing Officer of FPT, Ms Chau Tran-Marketing Director of Austdoor, Ms Nhung Nguyen – Communication Director of Ford Vietnam, Mr Binh Tran – Chairman of Buildvietinfo JSC, Ms Xuan Hoang-Brand Manager of Cho Tot, Mr Richard Moore – Chairman of Richard Moore Associates. Hundreds of participants from various companies and civil society organisations (CSOs) in Vietnam attended the events.
Moreover, the two conferences also offered direct consultation sessions to Vietnamese firms so that they can develop or improve their CSR strategies for sustainable development contributing to achieving the SDGs.
Even though, sustainability, ESG, and circular economy remain new concepts to Vietnamese businesses, with several Free Trade Agreements that Vietnam signed with other countries/regions, such as EVFTA, UK-VietnamFTA, VKFTA, etc., more and more companies in Vietnam pay higher attention on CSR integrated with sustainability, ESG, circular economy and the Agenda 2030.
The Win-Win for Vietnam project is jointly implemented by the Institute for Research on Development Communication (RED) – lead organisation (Vietnam) and Pro NGO! e.V. (Germany), and co-funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam.
Visible Impact is partnering with Pro NGO! to conduct several project activities.
