On 25 March, in Da Nang City (Viet Nam), the Conservation Fund project held an event connecting businesses with civil society organisations (CSOs) for biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability.
About 90 delegates attended the event, including representatives from the European Union Delegation to Vietnam, international experts from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany), 18 companies, 39 CSOs, local authority, and media agencies.
During the event, experts and delegates discussed about corporate social responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) responsibilities related to biodiversity conservation and environmental protection. The event provided businesses with many ideas for implementing their CSR and ESG strategies effectively.
In addition, this event created a great opportunity for businesses and CSOs interested in biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability to connect, exchange views, and share results of their involvements or collaborative projects in this field. At the end of the event, 3 MOUs for cooperation between corporations and CSOs were signed to show strong commitments of both enterprises and CSOs joining hands for Vietnam’s biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability.
This activity was held within the framework of the project “Establishing a funding foundation for biodiversity protection and environmental sustainability in Danang City, Vietnam” (in short, the “Conservation Fund” project) implemented by GreenViet Biodiversity Conservation Centre (GreenViet, Vietnam) – the lead and Gustav-Stresemann-Institut e. V. (GSI, Germany) and co-funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam.
Visible Impact is partnering with GSI to conduct several project components.
